What Data We Collect
Only what is necessary to run MyMerkato: • Identity: name, email, phone • Profile: photo • Selfie verification (Meet People only): a live selfie photo, manually compared by a human reviewer to your profile photos - see "Selfie Verification" in our Privacy Policy for details • Location: an optional home zip code you can save to your profile (stored and reused to rank listings, shops, providers, roommate posts, and want-alerts by distance, so you're not asked every visit); address/coordinates for listing, shop, or event pins (only when you add them); and your device's current location - only on specific screens, like searching for a nearby ride/delivery provider, and only when you grant permission • Device: device/browser, OS, app/site version • Behavioral: views, searches (including any zip code typed into a search), categories browsed • Message timing: timestamps of messages (not their content) between you and a Provider, used only to compute response-time statistics • Provider self-reports: years of experience and licensing status, if you fill them in • User content: photos, videos, descriptions, posts, shop products, provider and roommate listings
Data Storage
Data is stored in Google Firebase (United States): Authentication (credentials), Cloud Firestore (account & content data), and Firebase Storage (media). On the website, some preferences (e.g., saved items) are stored locally in your browser.
Data We Do NOT Collect
• Payment card numbers or banking information • Social-security or government ID numbers • Continuous/background location - we only store the zip code you choose to save, or a location you actively grant on a specific screen, never a live feed of your movements • Facial geometry, faceprints, or other biometric identifiers - the selfie we collect for Meet People verification is reviewed manually by a person, never processed by facial-recognition or biometric-identification software • Health data • The content of your messages, beyond what's needed to display your own conversations to you
Cookies & Advertising
The website uses only essential cookies and privacy-respecting analytics. We do not use cross-app/site advertising trackers and display no third-party ads.
Legal Basis
We process data based on your consent, contractual necessity, our legitimate interest in improving and securing the Service, and our legal obligations.
Your Choices
• Delete your account and data from settings • Remove individual listings, shop products, or provider/roommate posts anytime • Clear your saved home zip code from your profile at any time - distance ranking simply won't be available until you set it again • Disable location access in your device/browser at any time - nearby-provider ranking simply won't be available • Turn off your "available now" status or provider profile anytime • Request a copy of your data by emailing support@f2yapps.com
